You don't need to reinvent the wheel
Hey friends, happy Sunday!
Nothing to share with you this week, but I'll be sure to have plenty to share next week.
Alrighty, let's get into the Filter!
You don't need to reinvent the wheel
Believe it or not it's entirely possible to be a successful entrepreneur without inventing a new type of software, product or service.
In fact it's usually the best way to approach entrepreneurship.
Most of us are not trying to get humanity to Mars or build the next Apple but we get stuck in this cycle of idea snobbery.
We consistently have good ideas for companies to start or projects to pursue, but start doubting ourselves because it doesn't sound unique or novel enough.
Amazon started with a simple concept - selling books. They then improved on it by selling them online and cheaper. Pretty simple right?
If this concept is good enough to build the 2nd largest company in the world why is it not good enough for you?
Take an idea, improve on it and stick with it for long enough to see results.

How To Hack Your Brain For Peak Performance: This article shares an interesting way to quickly get your brain ready for peak performance. First, choose a behavior, then a stimulus, now you need to create an association between the two.
For example, let's say you want to quickly get into the writing flow, so you choose a song (or playlist) to play every time you sit down and write. By doing this over and over you build an association between that music and writing. This strategy allows you to kick your brain into the right gear quickly.
Build a better backstory: It's easy to think that your story is not worth telling, that it's too mundane and no one will care. But that's probably because you've never crafted your backstory into an actual story.
This post shares a great framework for crafting your past into a compelling story that helps people understand who you are and what you want to achieve.
I made $141k from 7 different revenue sources in September: I love transparent breakdowns of income like this. It’s fascinating to see how many ways there are to make money. Jakob Greenfeld has another great thread on this topic where he shares unique ways people are making money.
