Find your obsession
Howdy folks, below you'll find the most useful resources to help you live better and build a thriving internet business.
Let's get straight into the Filter this week!
Find your obsession
I'm becoming convinced that the key to success is in finding your obsession.
Mr Beast says in this podcast episode with Lex Fridman the only thing he cares about is making the best videos possible.
By choosing that as his north star it's easy to direct all of his attention on the 1 action that moves the needle.
The next action becomes obvious when you're obsessed. And working harder is easy because you're energised by your work.
I.
Reminder: To grow quickly you need to fail fast and often.

Most profitable business you’ve ever seen: I love finding unsexy business models that you wouldn’t expect to be profitable but actually make millions. The replies to this tweet are a goldmine of those types of companies. The common thread between most of these companies seems to be 1 high priced scalable offering (or affiliate) and 1 solid marketing channel.
Caleb Simpson on The Colin and Samir Show:This is a great podcast episode. Caleb Simpson has some intriguing insights into mixing short and long form content. He also shares how he makes $35k-$40k per month from platform revenue alone (not including sponsorship deals).
Mailbrew: This tool has been my secret weapon for finding interesting things on the internet over the last couple of years and it just became completely free. Mailbrew let’s you create ‘brews’ which are simple emails rounding up information from any source you plug into it. For example I have a ‘Daily brew’ that rounds up the best links from my Twitter feed, the most popular content from selected sub-reddits, Product Hunt, Hacker News and a few curated blogs.
American vs European Food Quality: I’ve seen a bunch of people share a similar experience to this:
And as Justin Mares points out in his newsletter 85 of the 150 pesticides used to make food in the US are banned in Europe. It’s interesting to then correlate that with this graph on obesity rates.
Now there’s probably a bunch of other factors at play here, but a bunch of pesticides in food likely isn’t a good thing.
End Note
The Sunday Filter relies on word of mouth to reach more people, if you’re enjoying the newsletter I’d really appreciate you sending it to a friend or sharing on Twitter.
Have a fantastic week!
