How to keep focused on your goals
Howdy folks, I’ve had my metal detector out this week searching all over the internet for precious metals, you can find my haul below.
How to stay focused on your goals
I never believed in visualisation until recently.
I couldn't see past the "Ask. Believe. Receive." bullsh*t to reveal what was really behind it.
Visualisation is not a process of wishing for things and them magically becoming true.
It's a practice that aligns your mind to see the path you want to travel down.
At our core, we're all stupid monkeys.
We get distracted, our minds wander, we take actions based on impulses and feelings rather than the vision we have for the future.
Visualisation is simply a practice of consistent realignment. It helps keep your aspirations top of mind and makes the path to achieving them clearer.
Figure out what you want and find a way to consistently remind yourself.
1. Make something wonderful (book): This thread has some great quotes from Steve Jobs. It turns out this is a book given to Apple employees that you can download for free here. I'll be digging into this further today ☕️ 📚
2. Thinking clearly (quote):
"In an environment where the greatest source of wealth will be the ideas you have in your head rather than physical capital alone, anyone who thinks clearly will potentially be rich." — The Sovereign Individual
3. Why I’m ignoring nutrition experts (article): It’s clear something is causing the huge amount of health problems that have appeared in society over the last 20 years. Society is sicker than ever and highly processed seed oils likely have something to do with it.
As Justin Mares says, maybe we need to rely on first principles instead of biased nutritional studies funded by large biased food corporations.
4. Product world list of suppliers (website): I found this great site that curates good suppliers in different industries to help develop products. A lot of valuable information on here for anyone looking to start an e-commerce business.
5. Build your worldview (tweet):
6. The 4-hour body (book): This book sat on my shelf for far too long. I've been dialling in my health over the last year so I thought I'd see if this matched up to Tim Ferriss's other books and I'm seriously impressed. This book was way ahead of the curve, published in 2010 most of the concepts still stack up and I found some interesting exercise + diet changes I'm experimenting with.
7. 9 biases hurting creators (thread): Great thread on biases and frameworks that hold creators back specifically on YouTube.
8. To be more creative ignore every productivity guru (tweet): Creativity and productivity are complete opposites. If you want to be more creative you need to make more space in your life, not cram it full of tasks.
